Louis F. Cutter - Map of the Northern
Peaks of the Great Range and their Vicinity, 1908
The first Cutter map oriented
more conventionally to the North, the 1908 map (and an earlier
version from 1907) was distributed by the AMC along with their
first guidebook in 1907. The territory covered was expanded to
include Jefferson Highlands in the west, Gorham in the east,
and Mt. Washington to the south. This map was also originally
a blueprint.
On this copy of the map, Cutter's
four family cottages are located in his own hand: "The Maples,
Clematis Lodge, Echobank, and Echo Cabin."
